Future Optics CWDM/DWDM hybrid mux demux device is applied to increase the network capacity by connecting DWDM channels over CWDM network system based on the difference of channel spacing. CWDM channel spacing is 20nm, and DWDM wavelengths have much smaller channel spaces of 0.4nm or 0.8nm, therefore, the CWDM wavelengths near DWDM wavelengths (1470-1625nm) can be used to transmit many DWDM wavelengths. Normally CWDM 1530nm and 1550nm channels are used to achieve hybrid CWDM & DWDM.
Future Optics' Hybrid 4 over 4 WDM Mux Demux has a compact footprint of 6.5*14.4*25.8 mm and 1.8dB low insert loss. Inside this device 4 channels in C-band of DWDM are hybridized into 4 channels CWDM network. In consideration of CWDM wavelengths range from 1260nm to1625nm covering all the range of DWDM wavelengths (1470-1625nm), and further DWDM wavelengths are of much smaller channel spaces (0.4nm/0.8nm) in compare with CWDM channel space, therefore, the CWDM wavelengths near DWDM wavelengths can be used to transmit the DWDM wavelengths.
